Reimagining Buildings in the Tricity
On 11 April 2026, with the Chandigarh Citizens Foundation, we convened policymakers, architects, engineers, industry leaders and academics to discuss the future of the Chandigarh Tricity.

Marking Chandigarh's 75th anniversary, the programme explored how the Tricity can keep its legacy as one of India's most planned cities while preparing for the next five decades.
A key focus was finding practical and scalable pathways to buildings that are energy-efficient, healthy, comfortable, net-zero, intelligent and ready for the future, and understanding how new technologies, design, policy and regulation can support that shift.
Programme
- Keynote: “Global Megatrends: The Tricity Lens”
- Keynote: “Less is More”
- Panel: “Future Buildings: Design, Technology and Innovation”
- Panel: “Enabling Implementation: The Role of Policy, Regulation and Developers”
Supported by the ASHRAE Chandigarh Chapter, ISHRAE Chandigarh Chapter and IGBC, the conference was the first in a series of structured conversations to build deeper collaboration and future policy and planning work for the Tricity.
