Smart Home Living Lab
A planned living lab of fully functional residential units, equipped with automation and sensors, where industry and researchers can test how building products and smart home technologies really perform.
- Stage
- Design planning
- Will test
- Envelope, lighting, air conditioning, energy and water systems
- Open to
- Industry, researchers, technology developers
The Smart Home Living Lab will be a complete, integrated design covering architecture, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and automation systems. Its design leaves room to swap in new technologies as they arrive, from envelope systems such as roofs, walls, windows and shading to lighting, air conditioning and other energy and water systems.
What it is for
- Testing and refining the latest smart home devices, sensors and automation systems through real-world experiments
- Understanding the user experience of smart homes, not just their technical performance
- Bringing industry experts, researchers and technology enthusiasts together across disciplines
We see it becoming a hub for the next generation of efficient, secure and connected living spaces.
