Automated building plan approval
Good design makes homes cooler, brighter and better for the city around them. We are helping the Punjab Urban Development Authority build software that checks building plans automatically.
- Partner
- Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA), Ludhiana
- Progress
- 8 of 25 building rules validated automatically
- Technology
- LLM-based platform with agentic AI workflows
Our work on urban housing aims to build good design practices, for thermal and visual comfort, into the homes cities approve. The first step is an automated building plan approval system for PUDA in Ludhiana.
Where it stands
We have built an LLM-based platform as professional-grade software. It can already validate 8 of the 25 applicable building rules, and agentic AI workflows are being added in the backend to handle a wider range of checks.
What comes next
- Geo-localised housing efficiency metrics
- Inputs from city master plans
- Mobility planning support for homeowners
People in Ludhiana benefit first, through faster approvals and better housing. The platform is designed so that urban development authorities across India can adopt it.
